Giving Students the eDGE - Project Timeline
- January 2021 - eDGE Project Development began.
- Fall of 2021 and Spring of 2022 - Pilot schools will provide feedback on materials, software and equipment.
- January 2022 - School recruitment begins.
- Schools recruited will be randomly assigned into treatment or control cohorts by the SRI Evaluation team.
- Fall 2022 -Treatment school teachers will complete the first online course. Teachers receive a stipend for course completion.
- January 2023 - Second group of schools recruited.
- Schools recruited will be randomly assigned into treatment or control cohorts by the SRI Evaluation team.
- Spring 2023 - Treatment school teachers complete the second online course. Teachers receive a stipend for course completion.
- Fall 2023 - Control school and Group 2 of Treatment teachers will complete the first online course. Teachers receive a stipend for course completion.
- Spring 2024 - Control and Group 2 Treatment teachers will complete the second online course. Teachers receive a stipend for course completion.
- Fall 2024 - Final Control school teachers will complete the first online course. Teachers receive a stipend for course completion.
- Spring 2025 - Final Control school teachers will complete the second online course. Teachers receive a stipend for course completion.
- Additional Information - The online courses are 6 weeks, self paced and facilitated by a support coach. Teachers will receive a stipend for completion of each course (30 hrs for each course at $18 per hr). The courses will prepare teachers to create games and simulations using AgentCubes Online software while applying eMINTS strategies to support Math education through student game design. After completion of each course, teachers will implement game design and simulation creation with students. Classroom time with students will require approximately 1 hour per day for 1 week. Teachers may choose to spend additional time creating projects with students. There are no limits to the number of games or projects created. Students may work on projects at school or remotely from home. Teachers and students will be given grant paid access to AgentCubes Online software until grant completion. Teachers will recieve a Chromebook along with 1:1 Chromebooks for their classroom which are theirs to keep.
